4 Steps To Creating a Buyer Persona (Step-by-Step Guide)

Prior to joining the Pinpointe team, I was a marketing consultant. I thought I had a pretty good grasp on how to target prospects and create content that people wanted to read; but unfortunately I was leaving out an important element that was (and still is) unquestionably necessary when driving a successful inbound marketing strategy. About a year or so ago I was working with another marketing consultant on an email campaign and she sent me a link to view her client’s buyer personas. What You May Not Know About Purchased Email Lists

Using purchased email lists is NOT a good idea…here's why: The other day my doorbell rang. Not expecting any visitors, I peered out my window to see who it was. Standing at my door was a 20-something year old guy wearing a bright orange logoed shirt with a clipboard in hand. Now, if I knew who was at my door and was expecting their visit, I would’ve welcomed them in and extended my hospitality. Email marketing works very much in the same way. When a contact signs up to receive your marketing communication, they’re opening their door and inviting you in […]

Beyond Click-Through Rates: Engagement Marketing

How do you measure the success of your email marketing campaigns? For years, marketers have trusted open and link click-through rates, unsubscribes and abuse complaints as a means of measuring the success of their campaigns.  Problem is, these metrics don’t always tell the complete story because they measure the performance of a single email campaign. If you are only interested in the results for 1 campaign – that's fine. But customers and relationships exist over time. Customers don’t only see a single campaign but a sequence of communication that they interact with over time. A campaign click rate or an average campaign click rate does not say how the customers are interacting as a whole. Moving beyond the basic metrics and taking a deeper […]
